Roof Rack Crossbars

Just an FYI to anyone looking for roof rack crossbars.... I looked online for some to fit my 2017 Yukon. Basically the choices seemed to be $150 for bars with plastic anchors, or over $400 for metal units.
I ended up building my own for less than $50 with a piece of Unistrut and some perforated angle iron from the local big box store.
It’s coated with a spray-can of bed liner.
I made mine to carry a couple of light kayaks, so I used fairly shallow unistrut. If I was planning to carry heavier items I would opt for the deeper and stronger strut.

Hi. Ty for this post. I agree on how crazy expensive they are. Love this idea.

What gauge did you buy? 12 gauge half slotted metal framing strut channel?

Any concerns on strength @ high speeds?
