unfortunatetly, the mounts are not..i did NOT know they werent included (which kinda pisses me off) ...so quick question, instead of buying mounts for $125, could i get 4 U-Bolts from home depot and mount the rack to my factory rails that way? IF not, whats some other methods youve seen?

I've seen duct tape, electrical tape, zip ties, coat hangers, bailing wire, rope, t-shirts tied in a knot. lol Throw it up there and see what it looks like. Figure out if you'll need to fab up some brackets for it to reach the rack, or if it sits right on top, you may be able to get some u-bolts or something like you said.

I've tried exactly what you are doing and I ended up buying the mounts. I used some U bolts but they even had the flat piece of metal on the inside and outside to help hold it and the rack kept sliding one direction or the other. I have a wilderness rack and the brackets although expensive are quit simple in design. You might be able to make them?
