Just got my 07 Tahoe. I had the dealer put in the Rosen despite the general consensus that it sucks. I had nothing to compare it to and wanted to give it a fair try. My initial thoughts:

This thing SUCKS! It is incredibly frustrating and it has the most difficult user interface I have ever seen! I'm gonna play around with it and see if I like it any better. If not, an AVIC or Kenwood is in my future.

Yeah man you should have got a Kenwood or Pioneer to begin with. Most of those factory replica systems are complete overpriced garbage. They're even worst than the factory systems.

I had a Pioneer Avic-Z110BT in my Tahoe then in my Avalanche I decided to go with factory nav... big mistake that I HIGHLY regret. When it comes to Nav/DD, go with aftermarket. My friend with an 03 BMW got a Rosen ONLY bc they didn't have a factory nav made for it so it was actually a good decision...

Which head units retain the steering wheel controls and back up camera?

i am considering the alpine all in one w910

Sierkon, you can retain the steering wheel controls and camera but that requires modules that require to make them work.

I personally love alpine. I have a w505 in mine. I woudl put pioneer as a very close runner up, there top end units are great also. I would put kenwood third, i have some experience with them. Their gps is awesome since its garmin, ive never been a fan of their UI on there units though. Seems klunky.

In the brush near the river.
Here's my response from another thread:

I have an Advent OGM-1. It has Parrot Bluetooth and I LOVE it! No only for hands-free, but it also does A2DP (Bluetooth streaming of ANY audio from your phone) e.g. Pandora, iHeartRadio, etc...

It will also automatically integrate ALL of your factory components (Bose, OnStar, Chimes, Backup Sensors / Camera, XM) with no additional parts needed!

Here is the manufacturer's link to the product:

Here's a video of the A2DP:

I forgot to mention that if you plug your iPod into the included USB port, you also have iPod controls BUILT IN.
