When we lived in New Mexico (2014) I had a set of SSBC 23121AA3L Drilled Slotted Plated Front rotors put on the front end, with SSBC Big Bite pads, thinking that I shouldn't see any significant warp. I have now moved to Idaho, and although we only have one significant grade we go down, I'm getting significant warpage in the fronts.

Recommendations in the current technology for rotors and pads? Anything else I need to do to try to avoid this issue again? Could this be a caliper issue?

I would think your calipers may be hanging a little. I had the same issue with my truck where the inner pads were dragging and wearing them out and warping the rotors.

If you`re going to replace the calipers now would be a perfect time to do the 07+ brake rotor/ caliper swap. It`s worth every cent.

As far as i know SSBC is a good company so i wouldn`t hesitate to get the same as you have now. If you want to change it up lots of guys here are happy with power slot rotors. I`m running R-1 concepts e line slotted and drilled for years with no warping and barely any wear at all.

make sure your wheel lug nuts are torqued evenly also. if they are not even, it can warp alot easier in heavy braking.

Before you put rotors on did you clean the hub/bearing suface and then check the runout of the rotor? Google disc -rotor- runout.... a little dirt or rust will cause this...also like @Sasquatch said check calipers and slide pins are all working correctly and not hanging up

I did stoptech slotted rotors. These with stainless steel lines and brakes grab with no fade and is still like you pumped the brakes with the truck off.
