Hey guys, I'm trying to solve an issue with a rough idle and stalling at a stop, only does it sometimes, I have a check engine light with the p0171 and p0174 codes which is bank 1 bank 2 lean. I've had a diagnostic done and was told it was the fuel pump going out. I changed it with an ac delco pump and changed the fuel filter, still have the same issue. I've changed spark plugs and wires all the old ones seemed to be firing. Changed air filter and cleaned MAF sensor with sensor safe MAF cleaner, and bought a new battery. Still nothing has changed, any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 2004 tahoe z71 5.3l flex fuel

Have you tried cleaning your throttle body? Can't see it solving your code problems but it does make a difference in our trucks if dirty!

From what I know you might have an intake leak= new intake gaskets. A smoke test would confirm this.

Second the intake gaskets. I just replaced mine, had a rough idle more on cold days, then it finally coded for P0171 and P0174. Easy gaskets to replace, less then an hour for me to replace, but I am a Honda tech so it might take a non tech a little longer. Parts are only about $50-60 also.

GearHead83, did you get this fixed? My Denali has done this twice lately but its been extremely cold outside too. So far I have gotten the P0171 and P0174 codes

I think Jesse and psycho are right on this one poncho, may be the intake gaskets. I got home today and gave a quarter turn on all intake bolts and seems to help with the rough idle slightly. But I also noticed while doing this the head gasket seems to be protruding from the heads in one spot so I make be looking at dealing with a little more than what I expected, any further info for poncho and myself would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys
