Hi,

I removed the Autoride from my 04 Escalade last week replacing it with Bilstein HD shocks front and back but now I've got rubbing from the back wheels.
Should I replace the rear shock? Are the possibly designed to be assisted with the rear air hence they'll be softer than others?

Anyone have any ideas please ?

Thanks

Does your rear end sag at all? I think there's a conversion kit that includes new coil springs to compensate for the autoride shocks.

You have to change the rear springs as well. Bilstein makes a pair for this exact conversion. Stock springs were designed to be used with the air leveling in the shocks.

Yeah, it sags a bit now and the back end scrubs when I hit a bump or turn hard. How much are the springs? Can't see them anywhere? Would Z71 springs do the same job?

I replaced my autoride with billstein 5100 shocks too with no problems at all. It`s slightly lower in the rear but it`s far from sagging. If i put about 500 pounds in the back it sits completely level.

Your springs must be really worn out.
