Been looking all over the auto stores but I can't find led strips long enough to go the whole length of the running boards. Before ordering them online, thought I'd make sure I get the right color and lights.
I wanted to do red, but is it legal to have red on the side? Is white? I don't have roof clearance lights, so I'm trying to avoid amber. Also, I ran across a kit for under the car led lights, but they only had them in blue. Thought that could work because I have blue interior LEDs, but do the underneath lights always end up looking so ricey? Thanks for any help

Every time I see a truck with LED strips taped onto it (usually the rear gate) it always looks like cheap crap IMO. Let me know if you find a quality strip that looks good.

I though about doing the same thing. I just ordered a 5m blue strip from eBay for $10. Installed some in my cluster and thinking about putting some in my foot wells and running boards but not sure how they'd look on the boards. I'm gonna try and do one side this weekend and see how I like it. I'll probably go with a pure white to not look so 'ricer' if I end up liking the look. I'll post a pic if I get around to doing it this weekend.

We're you wanting to put them under the doors (to illuminate running boards) or under the boards (to illuminate the ground)?

I would go under the boards as puddle lights

I remember seeing a post where someone put them under the running boards of a truck and it looked good. I am thinking under the door to illuminate the step

Stay away from blue, red, and green. Those colors are illegal in most states unless it's on an emergency vehicle.

Yeah... As well as ricer lol.

Use white and go with it. My plan is to run them between the rocker panel and the running boards. And wire them up to the puddle lights. So they come on with the key less entry and door opening. Otherwise they look like underglow and fast and furious lol

Planning on to illuminate the boards. Just need to decide if I want to wire them to puddles so they're on with open doors or to running lights
