I'm going to go lower with this vehicle, and I want to pop the running boards off. I got under it in the driveway and couldn't reach a few of the bolts with either a socket or an extension. Granted I haven't put it on the lift at work yet to try an get a better look at things, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to get them off? Should I take the boards off the brackets, and then take the brackets off the truck, or should I do it as one piece?

Searchbared but found only pic requests.

I removed the boards first then the brackets. You don't need a lift.

I have one at my disposal, and I have trouble fitting under the truck, let alone maneuver or work. I figure I'll use the lift to make my life a bit easier.

The only issue I ran into was maneuvering a couple of the brackets out from behind the fuel lines, the lines have some give though.

I removed the four bolts holding the bracket on, and the board still did not move. The inboard set of bolts holding the boards to the brackets also were bolted through the bottom of the rocker. Once I pulled those bolts it came off incredibly easy.

Quick work, did you get the brackets off too?
Yeah, i took the brackets and the boards off as one unit. It took me about two hours, but i was working on and off, helping other people in the shop, and I used a jack and jackstands because the lift was taken. It made it much easier to work on when it was in the air.

Guess I should have looked at the last picture more closely.

Now I need to clean up my Escalade running boards/roof rack/wheels and get them on Craigslist.
