I have a friend that has a 2005 Tahoe LS and mine is the 2005 Tahoe Z71. On the front turn signal housing assemblies, under the headlamp housings, the inner most clear lens does not light up when locking or unlocking with the key fob but on my Z71 they do and I know we have the correct bulbs, clear 3057 bulbs. She said that when headlights are on they both do not light up either. I don't think the sockets are bad at the same time. I was wondering if it is a difference between an LS, LT or Z71 package. Thanks for any info.

no difference they are the daytime running lights and only turn on during daylight with vehicle in gear and parking brake not applied, they do not light up any other time other than "flashing with fob" as you noted, when headlights are turned on they turn off, they can also be turned off in the daytime by pressing the interior light button 3 times in a row with vehicle running and will remain off until next ignition cycle
it's pretty typical for them to "cook" the harness and melt it a little even, usually cleaning the metal tabs will fix any issue otherwise replace the bulb and/or socket, gm sells a replacement socket kit.

Thanks for that info. They do not flash with the key fob, lock or unlock and will need to check about in gear and and park brake off.
