Hi everyone-

I got lots of help with some questions and also reading posts and I was able to easily install a AVH 3300BT pioneer radio into my 05 tahoe. I have a backup camera I want to run and I already have it plugged into the back of my HU but I need some help with running the RCA cable to the backup camera. Specifically I need help getting the cable out of the dash and running it back to the rear bumper.

Should I pull it out at the dash? If so where? I don't want to tear apart the dash looking for a good spot out of the dash so I was hoping someone had advice on where to easily run it through. Do I just wire tie it to parts of the frame as I run it back?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

from head unit, run rca to left towards driver side, above steering column, over and behind parking brake, down through door sill channel all the way back and under the driver side rear cargo panel, have it come out in the very corner, route it out and over bottom left rear hatch seal, then under body and behind bumper.. to cam..

simple..

Finished

I'm sorry it took me a while to report back but I did finally finish the install yesterday.

Installing the stereo was 10X easier than I thought it would be. I bought the harness so it was literally a plug and play. Installing the backup camera RCA cable ahead of time and running it to a location under the dash so that I could pull it at a later time saved me having to pull the dash out again when I was ready to install the camera.

A month later I finally had time to install the camera and it was easy. Running the cable was a little tough but just took time and a little elbow grease.

All done and its a pretty sweet unit. One gripe about it is the incredibly lame cable you have to have hooked up to the front of the unit. Overall pretty pleased. One last thing I may do is a bypass so can use motionX while driving.
