I've been looking to buy a Suburban and every one over 25k miles has a corroded and rusty engine bay. What's up with that? And how do I keep the engine bay nice if I buy one that isn't rusty and corroded?

TIA.

That is not a good sign. I would check the rest of the vehicle more closely to make sure it was not in a flood... IMO I would pass on that one.

Where are you located? My Tahoe is almost 8 years old and no rust in the engine bay, and I live in the Pacific Northwest.

I know that I don't have the same body style, but my 2005 has zero rust anywhere. Something is odd when 25,000 mile trucks have rust on them. Very weird in my opinion.

I'd be VERY leery and be sure those rides are not hurricane sandy survivors!!! I'd run for the hills. My 07 burb has 130k on it and has no rust in the engine bay at all

I'm glad to hear that's not how they all turn out...because the couple I saw were pretty bad.
