Don’t worry, soon, you’ll just have to speak to you’re vehicle to turn on fans and other functions. Some cars already have started rolling out voice control.

I don’t know for most of you on your thought about buttons on the dash . But I will say I been in a lot of luxery vechiles. And for a truck like suv it very attractive dash board I’d say nicer than most boring Mercedes suv I been in .I’ll say my Tahoe looks better inside . Looks more presidential classy American black tie event deal. hard to explain the feeling.
I agree; I don't find the Tahoe interior to be lacking. There are a few hard plastic surfaces that would be soft-touch in a premium European SUV, and perhaps the leather is not quite as soft. I'm not sure either thing matters in daily life, especially considering you're playing a lot for that stuff on the Euros. The Tahoe controls work very well and, to my eye, are presented logically.

Agree. For a $40k vehicle it’s a very nice interior. I don’t think it holds up to $90k merc/bmw/Audi interiors but it shouldn’t, its in a totally different class.

I wonder why Toyota hasn't updated the Sequoia in ten years. Seems like if they wanted to, they could kill the category with a fresh design.

I don't think Toyota has the market share to design a replacement 'Large SUV' They are a smart company and they are watching Ford smash themselves on the shores of no *********** with the NavExp. Other than the intial surge of buyers (leasers really) they have returned to their normal sales postions. As we are all very much aware GM dominates this segment like no other and Toyota may not have the will to move it forward. I think they would rather push their Highlander which unlike the Sequoia can be sold much easier to different markets.

As far as Ergonomics.. Yes I agree that some things can be made better, such as putting the main wiper switch on the outside of the stalk instead of in the middle of it. Having the transmission switch for + - light up when the headlights are on. Very minor details.

The all new tundra comes out next year and the sequoia, based on the tundra, is rumored to come out after that.

No ***********?

In Q4 2018 Tahoe sales dropped 17% while expy sales increased 23%.

Chevy will likely always sell more but full size suvs is very profitable for ford. They sell about ~1/2 that of Chevy but that’s still a massive number.

Americans make the best truck based SUVs hands down and probably always will. Autos, like everything else is highly dependent on dollars and effort spent on research and development. And because GM and Ford make so many trucks, they get the advantage of leveraging all the knowledge learned from R&D on trucks, and out it into their truck based SUVs like Tahoe/Suburban/Expedition and variants.

The Japanese and Euros can’t touch the Americans. They make a trickle in comparison and therefore just don’t have the data from R&D to make the best. And it would be way to cost prohibitive for BMW for them to start making Them from scratch. They have done this, and my point stands, they suck compared to GM and Ford’s offerings.

You like to exaggerate, I know, lol, but the number is closer to $50k. A base Tahoe with 4WD starts at $52,300 and if you strip it down to 2WD which kind of defeats the purpose for many, then it’s $49,300.

I get you’re point, all three GM triplets are “based on” the same vehicle, but it’s a $50,000 vehicle, not $40k.

A base Tahoe is $47,500 and GM discounts at least 10% without blinking an eye. So yeah, the base model sell through price, is out the door for ~$45k.

Splitting hairs.

The point was that even the $80k models are based on a vehicle that starts in the $40-50k range. (Better? :))

Yes, it’s better, you at least mentioned $50k. I’ll take that :)
