I ripped out the stupid 1.5 DIN stereo and installed a 7" Galaxy Tab and modified my center console to accept a JVC Media Head Unit. The white wire is for my iPhone. This is the best car computer arrangement currently available! I connect to the internet through the iPhone and can bring up live radar to see storms coming, all of my navigation is now through this unit, awesome music player with Pandora, watch Netflix movies, and tons of other cool stuff (I can even run the police scanner app).

I only had to file down the top part of the opening a little so that I could see the entire screen. I stuffed a piece of foam rubber in behind the TAB, which is what holds it in place very firmly. I removed the bezel pin that is just above where the TAB is located so that if I want to remove the TAB from the vehicle (I rarely do this), i simply pop out that part of the bezel and unplug the cords to the TAB.

BTW, I used a GMOS 1 harness to plug the JVC in. The JVC provides bluetooth connection for hands-free with iPhone. I do use the Samsung TAB for Skyping, which is awesome...video chatting while driving down the road! I get audio from the TAB to the JVC through either bluetooth or 3.5mm stereo aux in.

The foam pad presses the tab up against the back of the dash bezel which has a fine rubber gasket around the backside of the opening keeping the tab from sliding around.

Were you able to connect this tab to the car sound system?

That's very cool. Couldn't help myself from looking at other pics in that album. You have some fantastic shots.

Yes, through two methods: 1. using the 3.5mm stereo connector (i took the JVC apart and soldered in a 3.5mm jack on the back of the unit). 2. Bluetooth.

I use the 3.5mm when navigating that way if a call comes in the music will mute.

Thanks for the compliment on the pictures...i have taken these over a long period of time, some of these shots were taken with old very low megapixel cameras...3 megapixels!

Why did you just use a 3.5mm to RCA cable? The deck surely has some sort of input.
