I have a 98 4dr 4wd and im going to sas and swap the rear turning it into an 8 lug, 14 bolt rear and dana 44 front. I have a few concerns about starting this endeavor.
1) I would like to use the 44 i have available to me but its out of an 85 k5 blazer so the diff is on the passenger side, im pretty sure i can go pick up an np208 passenger side drop tcase out of a 90 suburban and get it to work anyone ever done an sas with a 44 like this instead of a high pinion out of a 79 ford?
2) I think im gonna use the oru mounting kit with leaf springs up front im trying to do about a 4"-6" total of suspension lift on it. Im not sure which leaf springs to use front and rear any suggestions would help
3) Any suggestions on a transmission. I do not want to use the 4l60E so Turbo 400 or 4l80E?
4) Maybe convert the 14bolt to disc brakes, 100% clueless about that lol.
I appreciate any advice or help anyone can give me im just starting to collect up my parts got my axles so big step in part collection process its my first sas so all the info i can get would be awesome, thanks!
