It's been real, It's been fun, but it ain't been real fun.

After owning my 03 tahoe for 6 and a half years I'll soon, not sure when yet, I'll be getting rid of her.

I'm moving on to an H2 Hummer, great offroading abilities and built by AM General which makes it all the better.

I hate to see her go, and hate the thought of someone elses hands on her but she's gotta go

I can't count the number of problems wrong with her @ 120k miles.

She's completely stock with 4x4.

I may come back to the GMT8 line later on in form of a gmc yukon XL 2500 4x4 after the Hummer gets paid off.

But the Hummer is simply superior in everyway, handling, comfort, gas mileage is for the most part exactly the same but with a bigger engine, stock rear diff.. etc etc

I hate to see my hoe go but it's time

i agree with you on most of your points especially the ride /handling they just feel more solid. Sounds like your more into off road.
Except for trans/rear end your will still potentially have to deal with the same problems because they are so similar. h2=3/4 ton tahoe. But i am curious how does an h2 get better mileage than your tahoe? never herd them getting better than 12mpg including the one i drove it was an 03.

Isnt the h2 and h3 a GM product? The h1 is am general
Not really...

From Wiki...

AM General, which remains an independent company and government and military contractor, sold the rights to the Hummer brand to General Motors in 1999. It continued production of the original civilian Hummer (dubbed by GM as the H1) until 2006 when it ceased production.[8]

AM General built a separate factory to build a new Hummer H2, designed by and marketed by General Motors. The vehicle went on the market in 2002. AM General does not build the Hummer H3 and is not a part of General Motors.

My thoughts exactly! In fact, I think the H2 shares a lot of the same parts as the Yukon and Tahoe. IMO, the seats in the H2 aren't nearly as comfy either.

The H2 uses the 2500 frame, front diff, 14 bolt rear w/ locker, 2500 torison bars, and a 6.0 with 4l80e. Basiclly a beefed up Tahoe.

the H2 is a tahoe frame and i think share alot of the suspension too. its more of a lateral move than anything. hope he means H1. H2 is really nothing special.

I like the H2, look sick blacked out and with a 3inch lift can stuff 38's but for my money I would much rather lift and drop in a cammed 6.0 in my z71

Well the H2 has 3 different frame sections the front half being 3/4 ton the mid a new boxed section and the rear section a beefed up (HD 1500) 1/2 ton frame
it's 8 lug has the 6.0L and the 4l65 trans beefed up 4l60 electronically locking rear diff and a brake controllled front diff all the front components like steering are 3/4 ton

the mpg is little difference i say because I personally get 14 mpg on my 03 tahoe, and in the end my gas bill at the end of the year will be only slightly more

The H2 is built beside the civilian H1 by AM General, and yes it does use the common GMT800 parts which in my opinion is the best thing they could have done, it makes replacement parts 100x cheaper then if everything was fabricated for the H2 with no interchangibility.

Plus the body has a lot of underbody armour.

In my opinion I prefer the H2's seats, I'm not sure If i'll get the air suspension or the coils, the difference being that the air suspension has a button that will raise up the rear end 3 inchs for increased clearence, the ride quality is said to be completely identical which is great to begin with.

The biggest downside is the door panel plastic seems cheaper then the Tahoe, otherwise everything seems more solid

The sick (in my opinion) and awesome roof lights are there for it's width which while that makes it more stable it is also built with everything at a low center of gravity having the normal 40% side slope 60% up down
