By the way...I think Judge Judy has retired, so unfortunately that won’t be a possibility. I think. Would make for a good show though!

Her $25 million a year contract was up so she moved to another network. Must be tough right?

Got any freeways with cameras or toll booths near his shop? That’s be good. Or a camera at a nearby store?

The old guy can say he was test driving in those camera shots. I hope it all comes out to your liking but I bet it will not be as good as you'd like. Mind you, I am not rooting for him, I am just playing devil's advocate.

I would also say he owes you for brakes, tire wear, depreciation, fluid replacement, air filter, wipers and time lost without a car. The last thing I would do is to let him do any further work on your car. I’d also inspect it for any scratches, door dings, etc. the last are almost possible to prove, but still worth bringing up.
call your state bureau of automotive repair asap

that is your best best they will shut him down and fine him (and nail him with EPA,zoning violations etc..) this is what i did to a shop that fuked me over i was able to get the overcharged amount back of $160... very quickly after i called them

Look, I don't like any tech, no matter what the age, that does not do as promised and LIKELY misrepresented himself and capabilities but this piling on is only based off of what the OP has said and while I believe him in every way, too many are piling on without both sides of the story. The fact that the rig was left for a year, to me speaks volumes about poor decisions from the rig owners side. Are you seriously trying to tell me that a 70 year old man was that sly to be able to keep a rig for a year just by making promises after promises. I am sorry if the OP gets mad at me but I just don't think the whole story is here and not because of the OP but because of his slanted side of what he knows. The mileage part of this is disturbing to say the least but ONE WHOLE ******* YEAR AT THE SHOP! Come on man! Hell, before you know it, this old guy is gonna be on death row. I like to make informed decisions and that means knowing ALL the facts. The one year time frame is glaring to me. Hell, this reminds me of an impeachment process I know a little bit about.

I understand the disbelief. It is a very disturbing scenario. I will say that I did go by the shop a bout half a dozen times to see what was going on. A few times the truck was on the rack even. To go even further hes done work for me at least the past 6 years on my other truck and my wife's truck. Hes done work for my boss countless times and other coworkers as well. I agree the time he's had it is ridiculous and I should of went and got it a long time ago but with everything I've mentioned it played a role in all of this. My coworker that suggested him to me has been going to him since he was in high school. This was not a random guy he's been a go to mechanic for me for six years. I don't know what changed now I just know the facts of this situation.

No I'm not mad at negative responses, this is a open forum. Some of the positive feedback is what I was hoping for.

@hulk161 the good thing about this group on TYF is we get upset when someone is ripped off, sad when someone is sad and happy when someone is happy. We are sort of like a support group. We can even become an accountability partner (all be it unwanted sometimes). I imagine there were reasons you left the truck with him and there was a level of trust at one point. It was good to confront him face to face on this and give him an opportunity to make things as right as they need to be for you. Good luck with your contract when you go meet him and remember to remind him that it is his opportunity to settle out of court.

Thanks so much. This response is the exact reason I even posted this fiasco. I greatly respect the input from guys like you, Rocket Man and whomever chimed in. Site has always been a go-to for knowledge and information for both the Denali's I've had.

Thanks a lot guys
