Seafoam'd a p0300 away..

I had a p0300 show up after changing my plugs and gapping down to a .04. It would sporadically show up, so I checked all the cables, vaccum hoses and it still kept coming back.

So I Seafoam'd the tahoe last night through the brake boost last night and today. It smoked a ton, BOTH times.

The p0300? 20 miles and it's still gone. (Fingers are still crossed though)

I'm telln ya I couldn't get that p0300 to go away! To clarify, this was my project (wasn't installing this stuff to try and clear the 300 code, I got the p0300 after I was done with the below install:
-new LT's
-new o2 sensors
-NGK TR55 plugs gapped down to .04 (was .05 on previous plugs)
-2 Flowmaster 40s
-custom fab'd X-pipe
-cat delete
-new oil
-new coolant/temp sensor

After I got everything back together, this 300 code showed up and my truck drove like ass. So I went back over all the plugs/gaps, wires, o2 sensor plugs, wires, vac hoses....nothing.

...then I seafoamed and so far it's gone. Like I said, there was a ton of smoke both times. I let it sit for a good 20minutes twice. You see that big white smoke in the videos and you can smell the carbon gunk burning up, I'm sold. I read somewhere that the carbon deposits get really hot and act as little spark plugs? Not sure how that works exactly but my 300 is gone so far.

Snake oil to some....but I'm sold.

not true. seafom gets rid of carbon. it does not harm o2s or plugs. i swear by that stuff

Interesting...I wouldn't think it would be an issue with o2s since the carbon is burned already, which is why it's leaving the exaust. I can guess it might foul a plug from the induction if SF into the intake tho

I've read you need to change the oil afterwards because it is all going to be sitting in the oil

you think it would clear a brake booster code since you are putting it in through the booster? maybe cleans it out or something?

worth a shot I guess

Actually I threw a bunch of codes when I did it, but they made sense...I had more 0300 codes as the SF burned out the gunk and some slow idle codes. Cleared em when I was done, no probs since...the only BAD thing I have read about SF is that it can weaken rubber gaskets, but if you do your maintenance you'll end up doing the intake gaskets someday anyway. There's a lot of misconception on the net though, sometimes I don't believe much of what I read.


Going to change the oil again anyway

ive used it on every vehicle ive owned and it does wonders...but they do say on the can to change plugs afterward since it has the chance to foul one...not saying it will, but its happened to people..check out the huge seafoam thread on ls1tech and they all talk about changing the plugs

I will SF everything from now on, I just have to hunt around the Honda forums and see how they are doing it on civics...I can't get to the brake booster line, the engines are mounted lateral in the 06 civics and it's mounted to the firewall...I guess if I could hire a 10yr old to reach in there I could do it LOL
