I recently replace the front seats in a 2001 Tahoe. The new seats must have come from a pickup beacuse they don't have airbags in the sides. Now my airbag light is on because there are no airbags to hook into the connection under the seat. Can I jump across that connector with a resistor to make the light go off. Is there any way that the other airbags could somehow be triggered by messing with the wiring for the seat airbags?

shoo buddy be careful what you do with that. i dont believe putting a resistor in there will accomplish what you want, nor will it be safe. chances are the only way you can make the light go out is disable the whole airbag system (bad), pull out the indicator bulb, or get seats with airbags. there may be another option, but most folks dont mess with the airbag system because things can get a lil hairy when you fiddle with it

I for SURE would not jump any wires!! Maybe you can have the dealer Flash the system to tell it it does not have them anymore.. Not all Tahoes / Suburbans came with airbags in the seats...
