Anyone Anyone know where the airbag module is on a 2007 Yukon XL.
Online some places said under the driver's seat but I don't see it there. I have leather power seats so maybe with the electric seat electronics they had to move it elsewhere?
A couple online videos show an access panel under the center console but I think that's the newer Yukon's and mine does not appear to have an access panel and I don't want to remove the entire center console if it's not there.
Thanks
Todd

couple things to be aware of with the SRS module
1. in the video he notes to disconnect the battery before unplugging the module, but he is already messing with stuff so
so.....disconnect the battery before unplugging any YELLOW colored connectors
2. a replacement SRS module has to be learned to the vin new or used
3. you can use a EXACT same model used SRS module as long as it was not a from a wrecked vehicle that had a airbag deployment
in any case it needs to be learned to the vin, a tech2 can do it.
as the guy states in the video a used one with a deployment can be "RESET" by 3rd party companies, GM will not do it, it is actually against federal law for them to do it.

all that said, good luck

Thank you for that video link. I searched but kept coming Up with slightly different models. I can't believe you have to remove the seats to remove the center console! That just seems absurd but I guess it won't take that long. I might try just removing the inner bolts and see if it will slide out.
Thanks for the other tips as well. I've worked on airbag systems On a few cars so was aware but appreciate the thought. There is a guy locally that can reset the hard codes and my buddy has an autel scanner that can reset any soft codes. I don't know if it can learn a new module though so figured resetting the current one would be better.

you might get the console out by just removing the inner bolts, but I personally wouldn't want to tear up stuff trying to force it out, I plan on using mine for a number of years yet and prefer to not tear it up if possible, a few more minutes work makes things a lot easier in some cases.
there are short cuts for things like changing the headlights....that are low risk of creating more damage
I take into consideration that new replacement parts can be both pricey and hard to find, let alone decent used ones
the stupid plastic hood hinge covers alone are $70 each

Well I got the seats and center console out but there is no air bag control module under there. There is a body control module, which I believe is the roll over sensor, Towards the front and then at the back of the center console is the Bose amp. Now i'm really stumped on where it is located.

The BCM is up under the dash drivers side the SDM is located exactly where the video shows and the same place the service manual shows
