Seat belt stuck

So yesterday I can't unbuckle my seatbelt. After pressing it really hard it releases the buckle but now the button is stuck down and will not latch the buckle anymore. Anyone have any experience with this?

its probably just bound up inside, you could maybe try spraying some wd40 in the receptacle and then jam the male part in/out a bunch of times it should release and start working again. if not then I would just replace it, you can pop the plastic part off and fiddle with it but the stupid plastic covers never stay back on again correctly unless you super glued it something.

I think you're right. I sprayed it and popped it up with a butter knife but it's still pretty hard to press. I'm just gonna keep working it in and out and hopefully get lucky.

I'm sure over the years its gotten gunked up with crumbs and dirt. A little more wd and working the hell out of it should do it.
