Have an '01 with a 4.8 that just refuses to run the Sec Air System test after a battery replacement. Will the Sec Air System test ONLY run and complete if the A/C is functional and turned on? Haven't turned A/C on because there is no refrigerant left.

What specific step in the Drive Cycle would activate the Sec Air System test?

A/C has nothing to do with the drive cycle. You may have a pending code. A pending code wont turn on the MIL (check engine light) but it WILL stop any further monitors from running from that point on. I'd check that first.

I've plugged in multiple times and had zero soft codes(no CEL) and zero hard codes(CEL on). I'd say I've hit all the test conditions. Puzzling.....
