Does anyone have the second battery and factory wiring installed in their Yukon/Tahoe? I'm thinking of doing this to mine but can't find a good pic to show where the wiring is ran and what it connects to. I'm talking about package 6A6 like the police/border patrol type vehicles get.

Just find a place to run a 4 gauge neatly from the factory battery positive post to the positive post on the second battery. I am thinking somewhere along the firewall and put it in wire loom to match the other wiring. Find a similar place as the original battery for the negative wire. Keep as close to the battery as possible. Ground to the body/chasis like the factory battery. Aftermarket battery posts will help with termination of the cable. Also the negative cable has to be 4 gauge as well. Wiring in this fashion is a parallel system that will give you 12 volts with a longer standby time.

Three questions.
1) Where does that yellow wire in your setup on the isolator (across from the ground) run to and what gauge is it?
2) What is that part attached to the body above the fusebox?
3) Why is there a T (split) near the new battery. I don't understand how you have both positive and negative leads running until the T as it seems as though its only one wire attached to the part above the fuse box.

Thanks!
