Well your right Cartwright, and I take nothing from you or anyone on this forum negatively all of you do nothing but try to inform or help eatchother and myself. There are very few 2 door tahoes and blazers where I live, I saw SO many get destroyed from the Cash for Clunkers deal. Just driving it I get a lot of honks, stares, and open mouths which cease to amaze me ha. I'll list it for some where around $8000-10,000 and see what I can get. In the mean time I will continue to enjoy my vehicle and possibly continue to mod it. I just really think its time for me to get something thats not 13 years old. Does anyone else have the vehicle I'm looking for, and have any pros cons about their vehicle?

Well you've got a 99' 2 door 2WD thats pretty dang rare if you ask me ha.

Oh I know its rare,1 of 2 according to the vin check and I do get asked often if i would sell it,but most people want to lo ball and try to offer like 4-5 grand and then tell me its not that rare.Some people try to get over on people but my best advice for you is dont set your price over 8500$ and see what offers are made and if you have to tell them you have had offers closer to your asking price even if you havn't then you can get them to bring up there offer,remember its your truck and you do not have to sell if you do not want to.

it's obvious that you've spent a lot of time and money, and have a lot of sweat equity in your truck. but there's a lot to be said about something that's paid for. how much would you wind up spending on another truck to get it to where yours is now? how long would you be happy with stock? i had the new car bug a few years back, bought a brand new v6 6 sp stick accord 2 door, and got all caught up in the new car, don't wanna mess it up, blah blah blah, so... at the end of like 2 years i had only put 2400 miles on it. something that i kinda had to accept along the way is that everyone drives a used car. if you don't think so, go get a brand new vehicle off the lot, drive it around the block, and go try and sell it back to the dealer. used. i get the new car bug sometimes, or the newer car bug, but when the new wears off, are you gonna be happy with it? i don't discourage you for wanting to get something else, but the grass is always greener on the other side, till you get there and realize it's just damn grass. good luck with whatever you decide to do. good looking truck, very personalized to you, but i think selling it and getting something else 4wd would just be another project for you to start. i've got the mod bug too, so i feel your pain. just gotta think about where you'll be with something else stock 2 years from now...

1 of 2?! Jesus nice! Hold onto that baby ha. Thanks for the input man. If I could get $9,000 for this truck I'd be happy with that. I bought it for $5,500 and it had seen better days. I've easily put $6,000 into it. So I could settle for 8,500 - 9,500 that would be great.

To tell you all the truth, I really just want a pickup. So since I know this truck so damn well, I think I'd settle for a mint Chevrolet 1500 Stepside 1996-1999 OBS. I could probably find one for a steal and just friggen have a truck to build up. Think of it, 6.0L LQ4 and a 4L80E, lifted, 14 bolt rear. I could afford it if I sold the hoe.

Damn I can't believe you're selling! After all the mods you've done to it to personalize it to just how YOU like it. You're crazy! I gotta agree with what everyone else has said though, there's no way you're going to get 10k outta your hoe. Unless there's a firefighter/police officer looking for a truck, and has a bunch of cash, you might get 8k if you're lucky, IMO. Good luck selling though.

Personally, i think you get better re-sale value if you have a completely stock vehicle that is in pristine condition. I dont know about you but when i go to buy a vehicle the first thing i look for is aftermarket parts that were added on by the seller himself. Especially engine parts, If anything has been "upgraded" i tend to stay away.

But in all honesty i think $7k tops. Its a beautiful truck man. No doubt. I admired your taste since i saw it. But $10k may be a bit high. If you get it, Good for you man.

Well, I wouldn't sell the truck with the aftermarket console or anything that goes with it. I'm gonna get a W/T bumper for the rear so the front and rear match (Black). The PCM is tuned by BBT. I can just give the new owner the receipt to the BB tune so they can retune if they want. Cold air intake and a simple dual exhaust. The engine is new. I think people would appreciate the add ons otherwise. Their all benificial and look somewhat stock.

Couple of things to keep in mind, the NBS started in 1999 for the pickup trucks.

Chevrolet in their infinite wisdom, lightened up the frames, to save weight on the NBS. The net result is a bouncing frame, especially if you get a Z-71. The Z-71 came with the same shocks as a 1 ton. They are stiff enough that the frames flexes before the shocks give.

The bouncing frame allows you to enjoy every bump in the road twice. I solved the problem by trading it in on a Tahoe. The body adds enough stiffness that it can’t bounce like a pickup truck.

I owned sixteen Chev pickup trucks up till the 1999. I would not waste the money on any of the new ones. The OBS through 1998 are better trucks IMO.

Suburbans and Tahoe’s are fine with the body making up the difference in strength to keep the frames from being a trampoline. :emotions122:

I know that the front section on the OBS is the only part that is boxed for better strength and rigidity, but you would think GM would have strengthened the frames on the newer pickups?? Either way, I prefer the OBS versus the newer ones, my motto is that the newer they are, the more cost-cutting the OEM's have done so the cheaper the product, but better engineering for reduced NVH and better energy dispersion during a collision, so safety will be better in the newer vehicles.

It’s probably just because I has spent over 30 years driving chevy pickup’s before stepping into the 1999. I expected it to be better in every respect.

Creature comforts have come a long way and they certainly have made them safer, but of all the lame ways to save a buck, to lighten the frame. That is in the same category as loosing the wing vents to save weight.

Most people probably will never notice the extra bounce and that’s good I guess. I still have a 1 ton chev for hauling large items, so I don’t need a pickup anymore.

I wonder what the government ownership will do to quality.
