the thing that looks like an o2 it has to be a senor of some type but what does it control it sits right underneath the distributor .

Right underneath the distributor? On what side of it? I know to the left you have a cooling line and the MAP sensor is next to that, its a square box.

its either called the crank shaft sensor or the cam shaft sensor....I can't remember which one it is. One is inside the distributor and the other is on the front of the block near the bottom.

I think I know what you are talking about. It doesnt screw into the intake manifold, its sits right behind it. Dont believe its a sensor, looks to be a cooling/heating line.
