This word lights just for 1 second while starting engine, than swiches off. Is it right?
And more: with the 4HI on (4 wheel on), the car make a great effort to perform a sharp bend, e.g. during a parking maneuver. Is it normal?

I'll have to double check for you, but I think mine does the same thing. If it's the light I'm thinking, it comes on like all the others when starting the truck.

What you're feeling is likely wheel binding. (At least, I think that's what it's called.) It's normal in 4WD to feel like you have some resistance when turning because you've got more torque going to the front wheels than normal. Unless the wheels feel like they are hopping or skipping, it's normal.

The only light that flashes for me when I turn the ignition and turns off after it starts is the check engine:

Never hopping or skipping, just more torque as you wrote...
I had Toyota Land Cruiser 100 and Range Rover before Tahoe (both permanent 4WD) but never felt that. Probably Tahoe has a different way of 4WD, "less automotive"....

i had that happen to me once or twice during the winter when i was using 4wd and that "service 4wd" message would flash across the DIC and i drove it right to the dealership to check it out and they couldnt find anything wrong, not that they wanted to since it was under warranty, but if i remember correctly it was when i was switchin from auto 4wd to 4hi, then the light never came on again, coulve just been a "hiccup" with the computer or sumthin, i dont think i had the wheel issue tho

It is not a limited slip design as it is designed to provide traction in a difficult situation. Plus on pavement, the tires grab better and are not allowed to slip.

On my Range Rover and other Land Rovers, they provide a significantly better (My opinion) four wheel drive system. There is no bind or performance degradation while in 4x4 in high range on pavement.

yes they are better 4WD drive than other I had mine in years now and I still love driving it.

Mine comes on every so often usually in morns and the switch lights sometimes all go out. It also won't change from 2-4-auto. I was told it was prob the switch was goin bad or has a bad connection (I've been to busy to really check it out) yea the truck will be harder to turn sharply with 4wd on especially on dry tar lots of torque and friction working against each other idk y light would be coming on cuz of that . And there's a part bythe tranny that has to do with the 4wd( I can't remember what it is) that could be goin bad .. I just hope I don't have to many issues with it in the winter here we get way to much snow Haha.

If the light comes on it is usually the switch on the dash. I believe they are around $100. Easy to change but sometimes it is the transfer case switches.
