i had my car go ion last saturday for a new rear end, rear brakes , bearings . the car came back the next saturday with dic service air bag light and the red light on the dash for the air bag, how can i go about reading this code without a dealer. i have a craftsman scan tool and a regular scan tool but i can't seem to get the airbag codes going on, the craftsman tool says it does airbags but i don't seem to navigate to it. any help would be great.. thanks guys.

and when i say rear end i mean they changed the rear gears not the whole axle.

Consider Replacing Sensors

There are 2 sensors under the front end you can change to see if it solves the problem. Whatever you do, don't let a dealer or regular mechanic sell and install them for you. I paid about $145 for a mechanic to 'diagnose' the source of the problem and $185 for a new one (OEM) and about $90 for installation. Both would have cost $370.

If I had known then what I know now, I would have saved a lot. I would check for loose or shorted wires behind the front seats. If there was not problem there, I would have purchase bought both left and right sensors for $54 to $80 each and installed them myself. Search YouTube for where they are and how to change them or have someone change them for you.
