Just bought a used 2003 Tahoe (96,000 miles) & in looking over the vehicle when I got it home, I noticed under the hood in the fuse box, a fuse missing. I found out it was suopposed to be a 30 amp for the ride control. I put a fuse in & later noticed the error "Service Ride Control". I never saw that on the test ride. Even after I take the fuse out now, I still get that error. In talking with a different dealer than where I purchased it, that could mean anything from a leaking shock to a bad compressor to a module or just a leaking air line. I realize I have to have it diagnosed by the computer but I'm wondering if there is a common reason for this error. I am going to contact the selling dealer but I would like some more info first. In pricing out some of the possible parts, it might not be cheap. It seems a little fishy that just that fuse was missing but I have the problem that the Tahoe was bought "As Is", no warranty. Any suggestions on how to handle the subject with the dealer or what might be the problem or maybe an easy fix would be greatly appreciated.
