Service tire monitor on, but my model came with no sensors?

I have a Border Patrol 08 had stock 16” steeliest and no sensors. I swapped to 35’s and have been driving for 3 weeks and today boom service tire monitor system is on dash. Any reason for this to come in if you don’t have sensors? Well and are supposed to not have sensors.

Howdy PPV guys! Do our vehicles have TPMS systems? I was under the impression that it was disabled... because when toggling through the cluster I do not see anything that shows the tire pressures. However today while driving, I looked down on my dash and the TPMS light was on!? It says "LEFT...

The TPMS may not have been enabled while vehicle was "in service" but I would bet that some parameters are set back to "default" when the vehicle is "out of service". Unless the TPMS is or has always been enabled.

Can you take a peek at the valve stems on the old steelie rims?

The BCM can be set to have the TPMS threshold set to alert only on a threshold of 1-2 pounds from totally flat.

stock 17" steelies? Maybe throw them in the back and see if the warning goes off, or at least one and see if you can get a reading off it..
