I have had three instances in the past month or so when I have gone to start my Tahoe (2005 Z71) on cold mornings and get the "Service Tire Pressure Monitoring System" notification on the instrument panel and the battery light stays on after starting. The TPMS light (or, should I say the low tire pressure light) does not illuminate. If I let the Tahoe warm up for a couple minutes and shut it off, then immediately restart it the battery light is no longer present and I do not get a recurring "Service TPMS" notification.

Has anyone else had this problem?
I checked my battery: 12V cold
I checked the voltage at the alternator while running: 15.4V this morning; voltage at the battery is also 15.4V
Alternator was replaced about a year ago and haven't had any issues with it since.
Belt looks fine, as in no cracking

You didn’t mention if you checked tire pressure pressure is low when cold the on and off is a sign one or more is going bad. Are you using remote start when this happens?

No remote start on this vehicle.
Though the tire pressure values on the instrument cluster are normal, I have a routine of manually checking the pressures while filling up since it gives me something to do in that time. Cold values are always 29-30 psi and by the time I get to the gas station I am at 31-32 psi. These values are consistent with the digital readouts.

For the "Service TPMS" message I get, I can just hit the Enter/OK button on the steering wheel and it goes away. The TPMS light never comes on itself. The bulb in the dash is good as it comes on when I turn the key to ON before starting.
It just seems odd that I only get the TPMS message when the battery light wants to stay on.

That is a new one on me. Is the alternator voltage good? Belt is good? Let’s see if we can get some more help from others.

Suspect the battery, @nick0789, and have it load tested. How old is it and is it the correct size for your truck?

"12V", if that's a precise measurement, is not high enough for a battery that's been at rest. Having a low battery at startup can cause all sorts of issues with the sensing systems.

It probably wouldn't hurt to have the alternator tested, too, to be sure it's not acting up intermittently.

Steve and Wes have given the best advice, the first things to suspect and check. A weak battery or a bad cell in a battery can cause all kinds of gremlins.
