Kinda new to this forum. I have a 2000 yukon. Not a Denali but I think the badges said set. Anyway it's fully loaded for 2000. It's currently dropped 2 front 4 rear on 275 55 20. Mine plans are to shave roof rack, demolding sides, drop lower possibly doing coil over conversion for front. I have a few questions when it comes to shaving the roof rack. I already got rid of the nutserts. I plan on dropping head liner and either using copper as a backing or small piece of sheet metal to help fill the hole. I'd like to metal work it the best I can so no filler is needed. Any suggestions? I would also like to remove the rubber straps that are on the ribs in between the roof rack. Are they two sided taped on? I don't have my headliner pulled yet so maybe it will be more obvious once it is.
Anyway here is some pics, not good pics but you'll get the idea of what I'm working with. received_10209445372165173.jpeg received_10209445372805189.jpeg received_10209445372005169.jpeg received_10209445445487006.jpegI'm thinking of doing a two tone. Matte black on top and dark matte blue of bottom with a glossy silver line in between the with having maybe some paint effects inside the stripe. Not real sure. This will take me quite a while so I'm sure colors will change over time. I already have a pretty stout 5.3 with a few upgrades but I plan on going alot further with possibly a proc harder or twin turbo setup just depends on cash flow. I have a daily so this project may take me years and I am fine with that because I have physical limitations due to my health and we are also currently completely remodeling our house, we completely gutted it and r3did everything including plumbing and electrical so as extra money comes it it goes to granite and hardwood instead of turbos and tires lol. Please let me know what you think of it and my ideas and any suggestions you have. I've built many cars in the past but plan on taking this the farthest into custom since it will most likely be my last.
