I had the cats tested and they are good to go .
I was told to try adjusting the shift linkage on the trans . I have a haynes manual but it just says taht on 96-97 models its too complex to be put in the manual . please if anyone can tell me what to do i would really appreciate it .

HAHAHAHAHA. "You know you're driving a hoe if the haynes manual says it is too complicated to explain, even with pictures."

he's talking about the linkage for the kickdown right? Mine does this on occasion as well. I figured it wold be fairly simple to work on.

yea the trans shifts fine just when i put the pedal to the floor it wil just stall the trans and stay at whatever speed it was at before i floor it and the engine just revs up . never done it before but all i can find on this issue is the shift linkage needing to be adjusted or the cat conv. being clogged up . the cats are both good but when i look in the manual for the same issue it only says to check the linkage and that for 96-97 2wd it was too complicated for them to include in the manual . go figure .
