Hey y’all. I’ve got a 2000 Tahoe that’s got a totally dead battery and in a tough spot. Can’t get it to shift out of park so I can roll it somewhere easier to work with. Seems like there should be a shift lock override somewhere but I can’t seem to find anything about it. Any chance y’all can help me out?

jumper cable and another car should light up the dash and let you take it out of park.

or im guessing popping the shift linkage off the tranny would work too, just make sure you got a working e brake or the wheels chocked, last thing you need is to get ran over by your own truck lol

This is what I'd do too just pull the metal clip out and pull the shift linkage aside. If you're in a hurry..
