I have a 2001 Yukon 2500 XL with the 8.1 Liter motor. I am not the original owner and didn't know anything about the Autoride (Option Z55). Not knowing about the Autoride I order some replacement Bilstein shocks. When I went to have them installed that's when I learned about Autoride.

My Yukon has leaf springs in the rear and no springs in the front. Can I bypass the Autoride and just put regular shocks in? I don't even know if the Autoride is working correctly. The front end feels sloppy and the rear rides high. Other than some bounce I haven't noticed any big issues when towing. It has 216,000 miles on it. What are my best options here other than spending $250.00 per shock?
