Hello everybody, I'm currently in the market for a yukon/tahoe. I found a 2005 Yukon that i'm very interested in but there are some things about this truck I need some advice on. On the carfax report it states a clean title no accidents but upon inspecting the front bumper, I found that there is an uneven gap where the bumper lines up against the front fenders. Secondly, i noticed that it has some positive camber up front but the inside of the tires are worn out. I don't think the truck has been lifted. Also, when I test drove it, the steering was making a light clunking sound that I could feel in the steering wheel as well as the brake pedal. It also pulled to the right a little when driving on a straight road. I really like this truck because it's pretty clean and has nice features, but I'm afraid it's been in a front end collision that wasn't reported to avoid a bad carfax report. Any suggestions on what I should I do? Thanks!

welcome to the site Raymond,

I would ask the seller if you could take it to your favorite shop for a front end inspection. If they say you can, do it just for piece of mind. If they say no you can't...walk away.
But I bet they will, sounds like it may have been in a slight parking lot bump and not get reported. But a front end alignment is no biggie. But if they see $500 worth of repairs that need done, there's your bargaining chip to lower purchase price, and get the truck you want.

the light clunking noise from the steering wheel is just like my wifes 04 yukon. Its the steering shaft and there is a DIY fix, just too lasy to get around to it. But like said before, take it to a mech and get it looked at. Most likely nothing but routine stuff in the front end.

I'm located in Florida. Its an 05 with 68k miles for $17,990. I was looking at the carfax report again today and noticed it was a trade in 2 weeks ago and was originally $19,990. So when I went to look at it yesterday, they lowered the price to $17,990, so I'm a little suspicious why they dropped the price $2k in just 2 weeks.

They probably dropped the price because nobody's buying anything right now. As long a mechanic and/or body shop says everything looks fine, you have nothing to worry about. Bumper gap could just be GMs fault, so could the clunking. Tire wear can be fixed with an allignment. Remember, you're buying used, not new.
