I personally have 20% over the the driver and passenger window. The rest is 5% over the factory shaded glass which now equals 1%. The law in Texas is 25% on the front windows and the rear I beleive is exempt.
By the way your driver and passenger front windows usually do have a factory greenish tint. You think is clear but lets say you add 25% your could be at 20% so you need to check. Go any darker and you will not pass your yearly inspection.
got a tint ticket in Hurst,Tx,pulled me over and the meter read 4% he said it had to read at least 25%, he didnt say anything about no front license plate or my back up camera drilled into my back license plate
ticket is $207 or pull it off and the judge may or may not dismiss it
either way I can get it re-tinted for $50 bucks
In getting tinted right now doing 5 percent over the rear window which has factory tint then doing driver n passenger 50 percent. I don't want any problems.
