Just bought my wife an 07 ltz. I love it. I have 04 dmax with banks and LOTS of mods. I want to keep this simpler. I would like better gas milage and a little more power, but the wife will be the primary driver, no racing, and i don't want anything that will hurt the longevity of the motor/trans. I'm guessing a programer, like hypertech or something like that, what do you guys think?

Programmers suck, I say you get a custom tune from Blackbear Pefromance (a vendor on this site) and it will be wayyyt better than the Hypertech for a better price too. It also won't hurt anything in your car.

i got a diablo programmer and it helps somewhat.. change the tire size as i got 24 so the speedo works right.. 369 bucks pricey but helps.
