Should springs and struts be replaced at same time?

Hello,

I am going to be replacing the front struts on my 2015 Denali with 59,000 miles. I'm wondering If I should replace the springs as well since the struts will be out of the car. My plan is to remove the struts and have a shop transfer the springs to the new struts. Or should I wait and replace all four springs at one time?

My rear springs were starting to squat with a trailer on after about 160K miles. So if you figure you're new struts will last as long you can do it. I did not replace the mounts, but changed everything else and in a month or so everything was riding smooth as the new parts wore in. No more squat while towing either.

I'd say it is a 50/50 proposition. Like @swathdiver , I replaced my springs at 150k miles, and I saw a slight lift in the truck, indicating that my original springs had lost some of their strength. I would think that at 59k miles, your original springs are still in good shape.

Different generation here with a ‘13 Escalade ESV with a 167K. Could probably use new front springs, but the OEM Escalade springs with my RPO suspension code are discontinued. I’m concerned that any alternate aftermarket or even other GM OEM springs will change the ride.

The Moog front springs, which were cross-referenced replacement to the OEM discontinued front springs, did not change my ride in any negative direction.
