hello everyone. I have been doing my research and looking for a couple answers in relation to harsh ride and lowering. I was curious if doing this drop would increase or decrease the ride quality. Either way I want to at least level my rear end but do really like the lower look. I have the mag ride suspension and just need to find the combo of looks and comfort.

I never had or liked lowered trucks, always wanted lift, that being said, to each their own and since joining this forum the lowered look has come around on me, its not practical where i live however so i stick to lift. You are altering the factory ride/suspension from factory whether you lower or lift, so there has to some deviation from the completely factory engineered suspension ride characteristics, dropping the rear to level may not have any affect on ride quality but there is the chance. Many suspension companies offer the lowering option, plus many more, you are looking for. For starters i would look up @NORCAL SS on here. He knows these trucks and will most definitely have what you’re looking for. Good luck bud.

I, too, have never been a fan of the "slammed" look. Well done, it looks okay but, to me, it can be overdone too. That said, I did lower mine. I did 1" in the front and 2" in the rear. It gave it (to me) a more "normal" stance, especially since mine is 2WD.

before I go and bug NORCALSS I figured he would respond to to this thread the most and was looking for a response from him and other members that lowered their ride. Now in mentioning the "harsh" ride I have had someone drop their rear 2-3" with stock strut (did not relocate the shock) and made a new level sensor bar and claims to have put more weight on the strut and gained a better ride quality out of the rear end.

It seems to me that the suspension is a little tight for the vehicle when not towing and makes for a rougher ride.

There is no rear “strut”. It is a coil spring. Not really sure how he could have lowered it with the stock coil spring...
