side mirror painting

i wanna kno how hard it is to color match the side mirrors on my tahoe and the two black strips in the back or should i just take it to a paint shop i took it to maaco and they wanted to much. this guy i kno paints to and he said he would do it for 150 would i come out cheaper doin it myself? thanks

Then you should still be able to get some from a dealer and take a shot at it by yourself but you will have to call them to find out the price and quantity. Dupli-color might have it to that you can get at local parts stores for about $6 a can. About the same for clear coat.

i did mine with enamel paint that i had mixed up . i used my spray
gun. get the stuff you spray on for the paint to stick better to them

and take the mirrors apart to spray it. i think i paid

$20.00 for a pint.

thanks for the info i just went and get some spray can primer and two cans of duplicolor paint and duplicolor clear coat sanded alreadyim going to start with my tail light covers and see how it works out i hope it looks good

never thought of color matching the cowl... have a picture of the whole front of the truck? would like to get a better idea what it all looks like color matched.
