In all honesty, it just adds a little to the fun factor when you really get on it... which makes me do this when I floor it:

It just makes the engine noise you hear in the cab louder? I have thought about doing this on my hoe

Purty much! You get a nice low rumble when you get on it to pass and when you floor it. Completely unnoticeable when you're doing normal driving and cruising though.

Yup, just a fun factor really, if you want your truck to be louder when you romp it. Hence it being called an "air silencer". Very simple mod, take off the box, put on a 2'' rubber cap that you can buy at any hardware store and clamp it down, and its done.
