Silver Spoke Trim Paint or Vinyl ?

Ok I happen to have some spare steering wheel spokes. I want to make them silver as to match the rest of my SSV silver trim.

What do you think would hold up better, spray paint or some vinyl wrap?

I got some brushed silver vinyl from Ebay. I will most likely experiment.

Anybody got any better Ideas ? or had any experience with your own.

If you prep, paint and seal (clear coat) properly, then painting could be durable. Personally, I'd use vinyl since it'll have the brushed appearance and be easier and faster.

X2. I think vinyl would def last longer. Spray paint would just wear/flake or get scratched off.

Not trying to hijack your thread, but I just wrapped mine...... and think thats the way to go, takes a little time but looks way better then stock. $20 for some 3M and its enough to do the entire interior. I still need to find time to do the door switch panels and the cupholder

That looks great! I'd like to do my 03 just how you've done yours. Where'd you get the wrap? Online? If so, have a link? How exactly did you apply yours? Use heat to help it along? Thx.

I used heat, the minor contours of the dash pieces were very easy with a little bit of heat. The steering wheel spokes were much more difficult but not hard, used a lot of heat. It was my first time "wrapping" anything and I think it looks amazing. I used a hair dryer, don't have a heat gun.

Thx for the link. Heat gun would've been too much, dryer was/is perfect for the job.

Had all the "wood" pieces in my avalanche wrapped in brushed black steel 3M. Was one of my favorite things I ever did on that truck.

I had a little time today and did the left side spoke with wrap.



looks better to me than the peeling black
