Looking for a cool sub box design for a 15" sub. Its a Memphis Mojo QVC pushed by a 2500 amp. rear seats removed so I have the whole cargo space, but dont want a cookie cutter sub box. any suggestions? and also will post a thread in the for sale section for third row seats, leather and tan, since I have no use for them.

are you wanting like a box that isnt just a big rectangular prism? like my box for my single 12W7 has a big angle on the back side of it (the other side that you cant see in the pic has the angle) and has a big oval cut out heres a pic. Check out the JL site to see a lil more detail of the box. its really tight and specifically made for this sub.
Here's a link to the W7 page on the JL site.

Thanks man that looks tight! Im going to go check that out. But I kow for the airspace needed for this sub I cant just get a 15 box from best buy.I really want to run two, but cant find another one Memphis QVC 15. Been searching for 5 months! But Im thinking wrapped in leather or suede to match the interior job Im going to do. but still have enough space to put grocery and my gear( Im a musician)

How much air space do you need to run for the sub? I'm running one 15 L7 and my box has about 4.0 c.f. I'm thinking that you may need to have a box built if it requires a lot of airspace. We had been looking for a while for a box for one 15 for a while for a system that we did, and found one on ebay. Check out ebay and see of you can come up with anything.

from what memphis is telling me 4.5 per speaker. plus If a have to get a custom one built then I still need some ideals about a setup that looks cool also. my plan was for two, so now that Im doing one I have no clue on a custom single sub setup.

just do it like mine but thinner front to back and wider left to right. leave the front just straight up and down of course and put an angle on the backside like mine that is flush with seats and put the box all they way up against the seats and then you still have cargo space. You can really make a box whatever size you want depending on what frequencies you like to hear better. From what Ive come to know (which may be wrong someone correct me if so) is that a bigger ported box usually results in better lows but not the best highs and a smaller box results in better high notes but not the lows as well. So you can make the box just as wide as the back seat is and maybe even shape it to fit between the seats and the interior covers for the fender wells. Now that would be tight.

anybody know what Im talkin about? maybe someone has done this before and can post a pic????

and quick side note.... I strongly discourage buying stereo equipment from Best Buy (a box would be ok) but never let them install anything UNLESS you let them install EVERYTHING. I bought a deck (and they installed it) from Best Buy and some kind of extra warranty ($50) cuz it was a lil cheaper than some other place and somehow the RCA inputs got ****** up so I had to get a new one. Well I took it to this other local car audio store to find out the problem (I didnt know it was the RCAs cuz I had just got my amp off ebay and I wasnt sure if it was good or Not) and they looked over the whole thing and it came down the RCAs inputs on the deck. SO I go down to Best Buy and I say
"Hey, I got my deck installed here and now its ****** up. I had the guys down the street check out my entire system and they say the deck is bad. Warranty should cover right?"
Best Buy: "No."
Me: Why not?
Best Buy: Since it has been tampered with by someone else (he didnt say those words exactly but that was the idea) Best Buy is not responsible....
Me: Well thats stupid. What about the extra warranty I bought? Does that not count for anything?
Best Buy: Any warranty you might have had is now void since anyone but Best Buy has tampered with it. but.... You know what? Ill pretend you didnt tell me that about the other guys lookin at it and Ill get you a new one.

but if you raise hell in the store they will give it to you (ive heard of ppl doin it)

SO I think I just got lucky with this guy bein nice so forewarning to you other guys.....
unless you plan on getting EVERYTHING installed by Best Buy, DONT LET THEM INSTALL ANYTHING.... unless you know a guy who works there or some shit (obviously)

not really a "quick" side note huh? haha

4.5 c.f per sub is going to be a huge box with two 15's 9.0 c.f.) I would look at getting a box bulit by someone who knows how to build boxes. I've heard that if you dont how to build a box, dont try cause more than likely your gonna make it sound worse then the box you may already have.
