When I start to backup from a dead stop up a slightly elevated driveway, I hear this single *click* noise. First thought it was a bad u-joint but both (2WD) were just replaced. Very hard to hear if it's coming from the front or back. Assuming it's a bad suspension component. I still have a slight vibration at all speeds that's not a balance issue. Maybe this is related?

Is it a click or a clunk?

Could be the slip joint of the driveshaft or also inside the tranny?

Usually these are not enough to worry about unless it is very loud, gets worse or the tranny falls out the bottom!

How long have you noticed it?

I have a continue vibration at all speeds. This noise started about the time the vibration started, which has been a while now.

Right now I have replaced tranny tailshaft housing, slip yoke, and u-joints.

I also noticed the click noise when the wheel is turned hard when moving from a dead stop.

Hub/s would be my guess if you're hearing it when turned.

So the single *click* noise is going forward or reverse with wheel turned and just starting from a dead stop.
