Looks like I got the Burb sold. So with any luck will be purchasing my next vehicle: a 96 red Tahoe with only 43k on it. One of the first things I am going to do is swap out the music box and speakers. So since I know enough about it to be dangerous, can somebody clarify for me what the factory sound head is! I've read on this web site and forum that a single din will work; double din; and somebody even said the year tahoe I have has a din and a half? I'll need a receiver/cd head that has XM cause life can't go on without satellites.:mexsmoke:

unknown at this time.
in its original form is a Chrysler/GM 3in high opening. Din+half. $10 kits are available to fit that size, single din and even double shaft radios. Double din is possible but require some modification and paying someone to do it can go several hundred dollars. There are plenty of single dins that have xm or sirius built-in.

There are kits that will move the HVAC down to the old CD player area and you can stuff a double din unit in. The home done setups always come out looking like shit ...

Thanks for the feed back. I don't want anything to look like scheist so who sells this kit you are talking about. I was wondering what I'd do with the old cd player. I know there's a filler pocket for them. Please advise.:Plugged:
