I read in the manual that my 15 XL Denali supports Siri Eyes free, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to activate Siri vs Built in voice. Can someone help?

It works in my wifes truck for music.... press button and tell it what to find and it finds and plays it.

Ask your 13yo if he'll take a min or two away from video games and being insubordinate to sort how to teach you. (then promptly take away his ipad and laptop for being disrespectful - it might help it might not but in the very least you have the satisfaction of taking away his only link to his social life - computer/ipad/phone)

Were you able to figure this out?

For Siri you press the the same voice activation button but hold it down until you hear the familiar iPhone Siri chime. If you short press the same button it activates the regular voice activation commands as it would if you didn't have an iPhone. A little cumbersome but easy enough once you're used to it.

New member here - just took delivery of a "new to us" 2015 Suburban LT (used vehicle). Found this forum and now learning about the "2015i" or such - not sure if this applies to the Suburban or not - though my vehicle does not have the capacitive touch-screen if that helps determine..... Need to check the build-date on the door this evening.

When trying to activate the Siri Eyes Free with my wife and my iPhone 5s's, after holding the button for a second or two the system responds with a "the device is initializing" or some such audible message and then asks to speak a command (not Siri, but the vehicle's normal voice-response system). I am running the latest iOS 8 version on one phone and an iOS7 on another

Is this indicative that the 2015 Suburban LT does not support Siri Eyes Free, even though referenced in the user manual? Or is there some incompatibility going on with the iOS or other?

If I press and hold the button on the iPhone it will activate Siri over the Bluetooth - and I can bring up the Phone App on the touch-screen, press "Start" and it will activate Siri as well - but not as hands-free as pressing the button on the steering wheel.

thanks in advance!

Looks like the vehicle has a 6/2014 build-date - so I guess pre- Siri Hands Free. Does anyone if this feature is something that can be added via a software update/flash or a module upgrade?
