smartstart?

anyone have the smartstart car starter/alarm system in their tahoe or yukon?im looking into getting a remote starter and this one caught my eye cause i can use my blackberry to start it and lock all that just looking for reviews and personal experince thanks

smart start is a very good remote start system it works really well but the only down fall is the price and really are u ever gonna be that far from your car where u would need to use your phone

while the unlimited range (in areas with cell coverage and no obstructions; ie. parking garage = not good) is cool, i think the best feature is the trigger alerts if you have the alarm version.

not having to carry a remote is also nice, too, as long as your phone is well-charged. the price isn't bad considering what you are actually able to do with it, and their operation now is much smoother than the first year or so of release (read the reviews and note posting dates). 50/year vs. onstar at $19/month.

i have it on mine and love it..i really dont need it as im never that far away from the hoe but its kinda cool just to use when ever..

Had it on my last truck really didn't think it was worth the extra $ always found myself still using the key fob instead of m phone.

yea its one of those things that are just there you prolly wont use it all the time i use my remote more ...but nice to have to make your friends jealous lol

I love that when I'm considering a new upgrade, I can usually find an existing discussion here about it.

So, Smartstart app aside, are the Viper alarm owners here happy with the systems overall? I'm shopping for one now and the Viper seems to be a good choice, but want to hear form those of you in the know.
