Smell of oil

2001 yukon denali xl 209,000 miles evert so often I get the smell of engine oil while driving any idea of what causes this

I assume you`re smelling burning oil? If so you could have a small valve cover gasket leak that`s dripping on the exhaust manifold.

What he said. Or any oil leak from anything dripping onto the exhaust. Take a look around the engine bay and also underneath. See any fresh oil?
