smells like its getting to hot

i replaced thermastat with the correct temp 195, fan clutch ,coolant temp,havent changed radiator or pump.is it possible for the pump to go bad without the leaks.also shouldnt there be some type of recirculation motion in the radiator .when i stop and cut the truck off it has that overheating smell and a hissing noise from the front of the truck.

Is it over heating or does it just smell like it? Also did you try testing the thermostat before you dropped it in?

sounds like water pump is out.

Cheap investment, add a new one anyway, it's not like it 'couldn't' use it anyway I'm sure....but sounds like it's bad.
