I have a 2012 Tahoe and my AC recently have this mold musty smell lately. The smell only last for maybe 15 to 20 seconds and it dissappear. I have notice my AC haven't been draining any condensation lately also. Does anyone know where the AC condensation drain tube is located? I think its clogged and may have cause the AC to have a moldy musty smell everytime I turn on the AC.

Thanks for the link. I might have to look into getting the evap system flush out. Anyone know how much the dealer charge?

Hello BigT504,

I can check what the local dealers in your area would charge to flush out your vehicle's evaporative system's. Private message me your zip code and reference this thread if interested.

Safe travels,

Before you shut off your cars after running the A/C, you need to turn the A/C off and just run the blower to dry the coils off. If the moister stays on the coils it will smell moldy

Any dealership with a Tech 2 can also program it to run the blower motor for a minute after you shut the vehicle off to do the same thing (without having to sit and wait in the vehicle). I'm going to have them do that next time I'm in for service.

I had no idea they could do that. I have always done the sit and wait or turn the a/c off when i turn off the highway.

I noticed recently (conveniently after 36k miles) that I'm getting the musky smell for a minute after turning the AC on.

Drain pipe is clear so I'm assuming it's mildew on the evap.

Why is it now a problem and not the 3 past summers (in Florida)?
Kind of annoying that this issue just now crops up when I get out of warranty.
