Right on, thanks guys.

The heater core is real ***** to get at, didn't realize.

I will be spraying some "duct cleaner" in there most likely before I get to the heater core. We will see how it goes.

I haven't looked into this yet on the Escalade, but my previous Cadillacs and a couple of other vehicles had an afterblow function you could turn on in the computer. If your vehicle was shut down with the A/C on and the outside temp was more than 80 degrees then the fan would run for 10 minutes, starting 2-3 minutres after vehicle shutdown. Since the Escalade shares so much with the Tahoe and Denali I wonder if they have the same option.

The afterblow function would dry the A/C core out and prevent it from growing mold. I did that on my 94 Eldorado after having to clean it out due to the bad smell. Never had to do it again after I got the afterblow function turned on. And on the two Cadillacs cars I had, neither came from the factory with this feature turned on, it was something you requested from your dealer if you lived in a humid climate.
